SmartDraw Adds Box® Integration, Improved Spell Check, and More

Sometimes the holidays are about the little things. Not every announcement is revolutionary, but we know many of you appreciate the constant small improvements we add to SmartDraw that make your life easier. So here is some of what's new in the latest update:

Box Integration

We added Box as a new third party storage option for your diagrams. If you prefer saving and sharing files with Box, SmartDraw now lets you connect to your Box account. SmartDraw already works with Dropbox®, Google Drive, and OneDrive®.

Better Spell Check

You don't need to win any spelling bees to look professional when presenting your diagrams. We just updated SmartDraw's spell check engine to improve the quality of the suggestions for misspelled words.

More Intuitive Shortcuts

SmartDraw is about working smarter, not harder. Usually using the Ctrl key in combination with any of the arrow keys adds another shape in that direction to your diagram. If you're used to editing text in Microsoft Office products, there's now a new setting you can define in the Options menu under File that lets you use the Ctrl key for text editing. Click on File and select Options. Under Shape Behavior, you can check the box so in text edit mode, hitting Ctrl in combination with an arrow key will jump between words rather than add a new shape.
